Let’s talk about something I
get asked almost every day: What does search engine optimization (SEO) even look
like right now—with all this AI and content overload happening?
It’s a fair question. With generative AI tools everywhere, it feels like everyone is pumping
out blog posts, videos, social captions, and newsletters by the minute. Content is no longer
the bottleneck.
The Problem: Too Much Content
AI has completely blown the doors open on how much content we can produce. But here's the
rub: just because you can create content faster doesn’t mean people will find
it. That’s the new challenge.
With so much noise, how will search engines—or AI-driven platforms—know which content
is worth showing? How do you rise above the flood?
The Future of Search: Relevance + Personality
Here’s where things are going:
- AI knows companies. Their tone, ideal client, people who give good/bad reviews, demographics, etc.
- AI knows
customers. Past experiences, social content, likes/dislikes, favorite things/places/companies, what we say, how we listen, etc.
- AI will know your
voice.
That means your unique tone, point of view, and style aren’t just “branding” anymore—they’re
the differentiators that help AI connect your business with the right audience.
What You Should Be Doing Right Now
If you’re serious about getting found—whether by search engines or by AI-powered
assistants—you need to:
- Create unique, human-centered content regularly
- Use your authentic voice and tone (ditch the generic stuff)
- Keep content updated and relevant
- Match what you create with what your ideal customer is searching for
Because in the end, your search terms still matter.
But now, your personality does too.
