7 September DNN Awareness Group September 2018 Meeting Recap September 7, 2018By Will Strohl | 2 MIN READ The Awareness DNN Ecosystem Advisory Group held its September meeting yesterday. We had new members and some exciting updates, including DNN Open Friday, interesting blog posts, and updates on the upcoming community dashboard. Our group continues to do a great job of creating and spreading DNN-based content around the world. We are about to turn a couple important corners. Exciting! What is the DNN Awareness Group Our group is charged with generating increased awareness of what DNN is and what it can do across all ecosystems. We currently have many areas of focus, including social media, user groups, and much more. We’re always looking for more great community members to join our team, so please leave a comment if you’re interested. September 2018 Meeting In this meeting, we catch up a bit with each other and then we get right to business on keeping track of our goals. We also had the pleasure of welcoming our newest member, Tycho de Waard. Our group continues to do a great job of creating and spreading DNN-based content around the world. This is especially exciting since many people have been having their vacations recently. June 2018 DNN Awareness Group Meeting Video The summer makes us all feel busier than usual. There’s always so much activity. As a result, June’s meeting didn’t have the normal level of attendance, but we surprisingly had some great conversations, ideas, and energy around increasing traction. We had excellent discussions about community-generated content, content locations, and theming our participation. DNN Awareness Ecosystem Advisory Group Website Proposal Meeting August 02 2018 The Awareness DNN Ecosystem Advisory Group has a lofty but long overdue goal of updating the DNNSoftware.com website. Some of the things we're trying to address include: making DNN Platform more obvious, increasing the usability of the website, and updating the messaging found throughout the website. We have some rockstar members that are putting in some excellent work towards this goal. May 2018 DNN Awareness Group Meeting Video It’s taken me nearly a month to carve out the time to post this blog post, but the video went live the same day. In the future, I’m going to put in the extra effort to draft and publish this announcement much sooner. It seems that the warmer weather makes us all busier, and I’m apparently not immune to this. Please enjoy our May 2018 meeting video! DNN-Connect 2019 Recap: The Next Phase of Our Journey I’m not yet out of Europe. I’m sitting in my hotel room in Paris, enjoying the sounds of the city, just blocks away from the Eiffel Tower. I spent about an hour last night after midnight, exploring the city. I can’t help but reflect on what DNN has done for my life. It’s quite literally changed it, for the better, time and time again. As a minor and superficial example, over 15 years ago when I started with it, I never thought it would lead me to Switzerland or France, much less riding a scooter around the Eiffel Tower after midnight. I’ve come a long way over the years, and so has our community. We’ve all grown, and this conference marked an important new milestone in our mutual journey. Upendo Ventures Will Be at DNN Summit 2018 in February DNN Summit has a long history. It’s grown a lot since 2009, when I first founded the Day of DotNetNuke conference. Back then, I used to speak at pretty much every user group and conference I could get to. I love public speaking. I love helping people learn something new – or better – helping inspire people to try something they may have never before considered. I took about 2 years off from speaking, and now… I’m back! I’ll be speaking at DNN Summit!
