18 June What Does the Future of SEO Look Like in the Age of AI? June 18, 2025By Will Strohl | 1 MIN READ How AI is reshaping search engine optimization—and what your business can do to stay visible in the future. Let’s talk about something I get asked almost every day: What does search engine optimization (SEO) even look like right now—with all this AI and content overload happening? It’s a fair question. With generative AI tools everywhere, it feels like everyone is pumping out blog posts, videos, social captions, and newsletters by the minute. Content is no longer the bottleneck. The Problem: Too Much Content AI has completely blown the doors open on how much content we can produce. But here's the rub: just because you can create content faster doesn’t mean people will find it. That’s the new challenge. With so much noise, how will search engines—or AI-driven platforms—know which content is worth showing? How do you rise above the flood? The Future of Search: Relevance + Personality Here’s where things are going: AI knows companies. Their tone, ideal client, people who give good/bad reviews, demographics, etc. AI knows customers. Past experiences, social content, likes/dislikes, favorite things/places/companies, what we say, how we listen, etc. AI will know your voice. That means your unique tone, point of view, and style aren’t just “branding” anymore—they’re the differentiators that help AI connect your business with the right audience. What You Should Be Doing Right Now If you’re serious about getting found—whether by search engines or by AI-powered assistants—you need to: Create unique, human-centered content regularly Use your authentic voice and tone (ditch the generic stuff) Keep content updated and relevant Match what you create with what your ideal customer is searching for Because in the end, your search terms still matter. But now, your personality does too. Let's Chat! We'd love to work with you. Let's talk about how. It’s an incredibly common thing to do, as any flavor of CMS you choose will always save you effort and money, compared to building a website from nothing. This is especially true if you look at the lifetime investment of your website. Using a CMS framework or solution of some kind just seems to make sense. After all, this is what I’ve built my own career upon since 2001. However, then, CMS was known as a portal or portal framework. That’s a long time ago, so it’s not a bad idea to take stock of things every now and thing to see if what you’re doing is the correct thing. To this end, I asked myself, “How is CMS doing right now, and does it make sense to still be doing CMS-related work in the future?” What It’s Like to Join a Nonprofit Board (And Why You Might Want To) Ever wondered what it’s like to serve on a nonprofit board—or how to find the right one for you? Avoid the 7 Deadly Sins of LinkedIn Photos In many ways, LinkedIn is just like every other social network. It allows you to create a profile. You add details about yourself, upload your preferred photo, and connect with other people. You post status updates, and like and/or comment on updates by others. However, as we continuously point out on this site, LinkedIn is not like every other social network. You need to carefully consider how you update your profile on LinkedIn, beginning with your profile photo. What Is Technical SEO (And Why Small Businesses Should Care) If you’ve ever heard someone mention “technical SEO” and thought, that sounds complicated — you’re not alone. But here’s the truth: technical SEO isn’t just for big corporations or marketing experts. What It Means to Be a Growth-Focused Business Owner Let’s be honest — not every small business owner is actually trying to grow. A lot of businesses are comfortable right where they are. They’re making enough to get by, their customers are loyal, and their website hasn’t changed in ten years… because, well, “it’s still working.” A Year of Momentum, Trust, and Building What Actually Matters As we look back on the past calendar year, one thing stands out more than anything else: this has been a year of trust.
